Carlyle’s Cancer Treatment & Recovery

Hello, my name is Rita, I am Carlyle’s wife & caregiver.

The date of Sept. 29th changed the course of the next few months, and possibly even year(s) for our family as we received a diagnosis of Renal Cell Carcinoma and Intracranial Hemorrhage. Carlyle was admitted for 9 days to the Neuro ICU at our local hospital following weeks of in-home PT and home-health.

A week ago, while following up with our Neurologist for his brain bleed, we were told what was initially seen as a Intracranial Hemorrhage was in fact a brain tumor that tripled in size in just a few weeks and needed to be removed ASAP. This was a tumor caused by the kidney cancer that had spread to his brain.

Currently, we remain admitted in the Neuro ICU after undergoing major brain surgery. He will need multiple cancer treatments still ahead, one of which includes partial-nephrectomy surgery and brain radiation.

Carlyle is not able to work given the circumstances and I remain sole caregiver and provider for our family.

If you know him personally, you would attest that he is the funniest, kindest, giving individual you’ve ever met.

And if you so feel inclined to give, these funds will be used to help pay for his current and future hospital/medical expenses and our family needs.
