Hi, I am Kevin Sockwell, the younger brother of Carlton Sockwell. My brother was a beloved teacher and colleague, having taught for thirty-one years as a math teacher for the Sanborn Middle School. Even in retirement, he kept up with students and colleagues as they moved on in life -- always remembering a name and a face years later. His legacy of teaching, mentoring, caring, and being a friend to generations of students is legendary in the circles in which he traveled. I am proud of my brother and his enormous contribution to education and love wherever he went. In honor of my brother's work, I am establishing a scholarship in his name to support SAU 17 students in some way to continue his legacy and contribution to the community. The details of the criteria for this scholarship need to be worked out with school administrators and me, but a scholarship will be established for the 2023-2024 academic year to support SAU 17 students in some way. The donations will be matched up to $10,000. So each donation is doubled.
