My name is Coral, and I’m raising funds for my husband, Tom. Tom is a Marine veteran and a longtime Carlsbad Dove Library clerk, and he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease — a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement, balance, and daily functioning.

 As his symptoms have advanced, Tom is no longer able to work. Because he was employed part-time, he does not qualify for disability benefits, and our household income has disappeared almost overnight.

 Parkinson’s disease isn’t just a diagnosis — it is a daily struggle. Medical appointments, medications, mobility aids, and safety equipment are essential to keep Tom safe, mobile, and as independent as possible.
