Carls Long Road to Recovery

April 13th, 2020 my brother was involved in a serious accident, hit by a car on his motorized scooter while leaving a store close to his home. He was unconscious at the scene and he doesn't remember what happened. We are still waiting on the accident report and trying to figure out exactly what happened, who has cameras in the area that might hold clues, and what we need to do to move forward in this incident.
Both his arms are in splints (with pins in one hand), both legs are broken in multiple areas and being held together by pins, large bars, and weights. His hip is broken and apparently they had a very hard time getting his leg back in as well. He had a large laceration on his thigh and lost quite a bit of blood, and as well as one on his head - BUT THANK GOD HE WEARS HIS HELMET RELIGIOUSLY!!!
He already has gone through one surgery but has MANY more to come to try and save his leg and mobility. He is being moved from one hospital to another for a Trauma Orthopedic Specialist that can provide the best care he needs.
This couldn't have come at a worse time - during this COVID-19 outbreak, where we will not be able to go see him in the hospital. They had a hard time identifying him at first as they couldn't find his wallet or phone. He is also immunocompromised being a cancer survivor and transplant recipient, which worries us even more. Carl has never had an easy life: a difficult birth, Osteomyelitis as a toddler where he almost lost his leg, Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 3b in his late teens (with a battle that went on into his 20s - multiple bone marrow transplants), and he's also on the spectrum.
He is going to need help with medical bills, physical therapy, living needs, and everything in between. ANYTHING will help - and please share <3 He has a long road ahead of him but is in good spirits considering. He is thankful for all the prayers and thoughts and hopes you all continue to think of him and our family at this time.
