Carlos Flores' Funeral Costs
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Cece Flores and I am here to raise money for my dad's funeral costs, medical bills, and the lawyer for the case.
On June 20th, my father was hit by a drunk driver, leaving him brain dead. There was nothing that could be done to help him, but it was good to know he was not in pain. On June 25th, all of his organs were used to help those in need get a second chance at life.
My dad left behind 6 children (some of us are old now) with the youngest being 11. My dad has always meant the world to me. He was the one who worked and provided for our family. He would take us to the zoo when we were little and when we were old enough he took us to work with him. He was a gardner and a lot of his clients have known me since I was eight and I still talk to them since today.
He was kind and humble and didn't complain about anything. He was known for his love of yard sales. Every time he saw one we would have to stop to go and check it out, even though it would take time from work.
After working on all the houses, we would go eat some grub and since he was pretty thin, he would usually not finish his food. It always made me laugh because he could never finish a Chipotle burrito while I scarfed mine down quickly.
My dad was everything to my siblings too. They loved him so much. But when they left to Maryland, they werent able to see him for three years, so I know that must have made him sad. We were actually in Maryland when the accident happened, seeing our dad for the last time hooked up to the machine before donating his organs.
It was actually this year that my dad renewed his license and became an organ donor for the first time. It is kind of strange, so we are glad he was able to help people even in his final moments.
I like how everyone has the same consensus about my dad. He was a great, kind, funny, loving man who enjoyed living life. Even though his last years were spent alone, he was always happy.
Even at the age of 57, he would still climb trees and enjoy the outdoors. That's the best thing. He had his signature grunt and passed down his long nose to all of my brothers. They say it is kind of a curse, but now I see it's just another reminder of him.
I was the first girl because my father really wanted a daughter after my older brothers. Even while I am writing this, I am smiling to think about all the good times.
The money will be used to help fund a storage place to put all of my father's stuff, pay for his medical bills, pay for the lawyer, and pay my father's funeral costs. Any donation is such an amazing gift and means so much to me and my family. If you knew my father, you knew how much of an amazingly kind human being he was. He is one of the reasons I am the way I am.
My family and I are thankful for any donations, big or small. Every little bit helps and I hope that you had a smile on your face when reading about my father.
