Carlos Rodriguez's Brain Tumor Surgery & Recovery

Several days ago, Carlos Rodriguez Jr. went to the ER due to an adverse reaction to a hornet sting on his head. Unfortunately, a subsequent brain scan revealed that Carlos has a brain tumor (a low-grade glioma in the left inferotemporal lobe). This has come as a shock to his wife, Toni, and his whole community of family and friends. They are now searching for a brain surgeon to remove the tumor (and do a biopsy) so that Carlos can begin his road to recovery.

Carlos and his wife, Toni, currently live in Las Vegas for Carlos’ residency, and they have 3 beautiful little girls (Luna - 5, Siena - almost 4, and Marina - 2). Carlos and Toni have worked incredibly hard and made many sacrifices for many years to get to this point in their lives - with Carlos in residency for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) to fulfill his dream to become a Physiatrist. Anyone who knows Carlos and Toni can’t help but feel the light and love they spread everywhere they go. They have made an enormous impact in the lives of their friends and family - always giving and supporting others in need.

Now that they have received this diagnosis, they are in desperate need of financial help to replace the income loss for their family and other medical costs that will not be covered by insurance. Carlos's brain surgery will need to be done out of state and, therefore, will be “out of network” for their health insurance… making an already emotionally challenging situation feel even more daunting. If you are able to financially contribute at this time, it will go a long way in ensuring that they can focus on Carlos’ healing while knowing their family of 5 will have support for the duration of treatment and recovery.
