On Monday, our lives were forever changed when we lost Carlos far too soon. His passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and like so many families, we were not financially prepared for this tragedy.

Carlos touched the lives of everyone around him—family, friends, and his firefighting crew. He had a way of connecting with people on the deepest level, making each person feel valued and loved. In 2024, he began his journey as a Wildland Firefighter, a role that quickly became more than just a job—it was his calling. His determination, hard work, and resilience earned him the admiration of his peers. Even in the toughest moments, he carried laughter into the fire line, lifting spirits and inspiring those around him to keep pushing forward. His competitive drive and relentless spirit motivated others to rise beyond their limits, leaving behind a legacy of courage, strength, and growth.

Carlos leaves behind a circle of people whose lives will never be the same—his family, his friends, and his fire crew, each grieving this unimaginable loss in their own way. His presence was a gift, his spirit larger than life, and the love he gave was felt by everyone who knew him. We are now faced with the difficult task of bringing him home so he can be laid to rest with dignity and love. Carlos tocó la vida de todos a su alrededor: su familia, sus amigos y su equipo de bomberos. Tenía una manera especial de conectar con las personas en lo más profundo, haciendo que cada uno se sintiera valorado y amado. Su familia, amigos y hermanos bomberos permanecen unidos para llevarlo a su descanso con el mismo honor que él dio cada día de su vida.
