As many of you know, Carlos & I were recently in a serious car accident. A huge truck cut suddenly into our lane and as we swerved left, the car rolled. Witnesses to the crash say our car flipped as much as 7 times! 

Thankfully, we both survived - I with minor injuries. 

Unfortunately, Carlos was not so lucky. 

His right hand was mangled in the collision, and he has been in the hospital undergoing multiple reconstructive surgeries to try to save what is left of his hand. 

This is devastating - as you all know, Carlos is a respected Pastry Chef, and his livelihood depends on using his hands. This trauma to his dominant hand is not only physically destructive - but has sidelined him from work as well. The three separate surgeries (so far) and the inevitable recovery and physical therapy is not only very costly, but prevents him from baking as well. 

Our lives have been turned upside down in an instant, but we still have each other and are so grateful to have escaped with our lives.

The road ahead is going to be long and difficult, but with your support and encouragement, we know we will be okay. Thank you for your help, and we will keep you updated as we progress on this long and difficult time together.
