Carlos Martinez's Second Aneurysm Operation

Donation protected

Just this past summer Carlos Martinez my husband, and beloved tailor of Miami, FL had an aneurysm that left him crippled in the ICU for 15 days. He could not move, he could eat, he could breathe, and all he did was sleep. I remember fighting with first responders over whether or not Carlos should be rushed to the hospital. I was mortified by his seizing and his screams. I just wanted Carlos to get better and get help.

My daughter and his son flew in from D.C. and Orlando because we weren't sure if my husband, their father would make it through the trauma that his brain had suffered. After weeks of prayer, rehabilitation, and the wonderful care that doctors in Baptist hospital gave to my spouse, Carlos recovered. Carlos still has trouble remembering things at times, but he is still the same man that I have been married to for 25 years, a loving father and a hard working tailor.

Unfortunately the battle isn't over, Carlos has another aneurysm located in a more critical part of his brain and if left untreated would surely mean his death. Carlos is currently scheduled for surgery on the 5th of December to be in the operating room for over eight hours. Carlos has been unable to work since the summer as he cannot handle the stress of running a business out of fear that another aneurysm would burst killing him in the process. To prevent this from occurring doctors are going to have open my husband's skull to access the parts of his brain impacted by the aneurysm that is present.    Carlos has been still struggling with regaining all of his cognitive abilities such as memory, swiftness, and vigor; these would be prolonged by such an invasive procedure.

We ask our family, neighbors, friends, and customers for their help in this time as Carlos (should the operation go well, and we're praying it will) will be in recovery and rehabilitation for at least three months if not longer. We've seen what one aneurysm can do, and know how hard on his body these operations can be. We're asking for help so we can pay bills, and take care of our family during this time.

We believe if God has delivered Carlos from this tumultuous time, he will guide us further as we continue with his healing. We pray that you read this in good health and give us your prayers for Carlos's healing, and betterment.

Thank you for your time,
