March 23rd, 2019 I found my brother unconscious and in pool blood. If it was not for a good Samaritan finding him and calling me from his phone this post might have been different.



Carlos had to be air lifted to the hospital he suffered 3 cranial fractures located around his eye and the temporal bone which has led to swelling of the brain and some internal bleeding. The accident injured tendons and nerves located at his occipital ridge and doctors have informed us that if not treated properly may lead to full paralysis. The accident has shattered his left ankle, broke his tibia in half and also bruised his lungs. The following months will be filled with doctor’s appointments, exams, and many surgeries.



This is an especially hard post to write about because Carlos is a hardened runner. Whenever he is not busy working his full-time job you can find him devoting his time to the City of South Gate in putting together the annual Turkey Trot that helps feed over 100 families every year before Thanksgiving. I write this because he now needs our help from the community in the following challenges he faces with his recovery. Gracias a un buen samaritano que por fortuna contesto su telefono, encontre a mi hermano lleno de sangre, con dolor, e inconsciente;

Los helicopteros vinieron y se lo llevaron de emergencia. Sufrio un accidente que nadie atestiguo. Sufre 3 fracturas craneales. Uno detras de su ojo, uno en su hueso temporal que lastimo su cerebroy causo un sangrado interno, y otro en su occipital, que lesiono algunos de sus tendones y nervios detras de su cuello. Esto puede llevar a una paralisis completa si no se cuida bien. Se lastimo el pulmon izquierdo y se rompio la tibia izquierda por la mitad y el tobillo en pedazos. Tiene muchos mas examenes y cirugias que deben realizarse a lo largo de los meses. Estoy buscando cualquier donacion para ayudarlo a el y a su esposa en su situacion actual. Cualquier donacion es muy apreciada y nunca demasiado pequeña. Gracias!
