My dad Carlos was 1 of 6 Survivors of an elevator malfunction that was released and fell 25 floors. He underwent major surgeries that allowed him the ability to walk again, and eventually regain sensitivity on his leg. This event and initial surgery took place about 30 years ago, and has now in the last couple of years started to fail. His pain has been heartbreakingly increasing as time progresses, which has been difficult for him to work as his work is entirely a physical job.

To those who know my father, they would tell you that he is one of the most selfless and loving people out there. He has been through multiple doctors, consultations, treatments, and medications, with no success. Due to the complexity of of the surgery, this surgery can only be performed by a few orthopedic surgery centers around the world. Fortunatly, we have recently found an orthopedic surgeon that is able to perform the surgery in Missouri, but his insurance does not, and will not cover any portion of the surgery.

I believe that kindness can come from all places, even the places were you least expect it. I hope that through this GoFund me we can help my dad cover some of the costs of this surgery. I only wish for my dad to continue living a life without chronic pain that will allow him to work and continue providing for his family. He is one of the most important people in my life so it is heartbreaking for our enire family to see him in so much pain, no matter how much he tries to hide it, and remain strong for all his friends and family.
