On September 4th, we lost our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Carlos Crespo Guevara. Four months ago he lost his beloved wife of 60 years. This resulted in him coming to the U.S. to spend time with his daughters and grandkids in his time of grieving. During his time here he was diagnosed with Leukemia. From then on - he quickly weakened, his disease got stronger by the day. The week leading up to his death; he was unable to walk, let alone stand as well as extreme dizziness and fatigue. He felt ill enough to agree to be taken to the hospital. They did many studies on him and found that his heart was very weak. He was scheduled for surgery on the 4th, and the day prior he experienced a mini heart attack to which then he was transferred to ICU. The morning of the surgery the anesthesiologist came to speak to him and the family. She explained to us that he had a 50% chance of survival and she was very worried about the procedure due to the condition he was in. Hearing this, his daughter proposed the idea of maybe not doing the surgery after all but he said, no. He wanted to give it a shot despite the risk. One of his last requests in case something happened, was that he wanted to be taken back to his land of Mazatlan, Sinaloa to be put to rest alongside his wife. Tragically, he did not make it and passed in the operating room.

It is our family's greatest desire to grant his last request and take him home to be put to rest. He deserves the respect to be honored by his family and lifelong community. We are seeking assistance during this difficult time to grant his last wish, thank you in advance for any contributions.

El 4 de septiembre perdimos a nuestro querido padre, abuelo y amigo, Carlos Crespo Guevara. Hace cuatro meses, él perdió a su amada esposa con la que compartió 60 años de su vida. Esta pérdida lo llevó a venir a los Estados Unidos para pasar tiempo con sus hijas y nietos durante su duelo.

Durante su estancia aquí, fue diagnosticado con leucemia. A partir de ese momento, su salud comenzó a deteriorarse rápidamente, y la enfermedad se intensificaba día con día. La semana previa a su fallecimiento, ya no podía caminar ni mantenerse de pie, además de sufrir mareos extremos y una gran fatiga. Se sentía tan mal que aceptó ser llevado al hospital.

Le realizaron muchos estudios y encontraron que su corazón estaba muy débil. Fue programado para una cirugía el día 4, pero el día anterior sufrió un pequeño infarto, por lo que fue trasladado a cuidados intensivos. La mañana de la cirugía, la anestesióloga se acercó a hablar con él y con la familia. Nos explicó que tenía un 50% de probabilidad de sobrevivir y que estaba muy preocupada por el procedimiento debido a su condición.

Al escuchar esto, su hija propuso la posibilidad de cancelar la cirugía, pero él dijo que no. Quería intentarlo, a pesar del riesgo. Una de sus últimas voluntades, en caso de que algo sucediera, fue que deseaba ser llevado de regreso a su tierra natal de Mazatlán, Sinaloa, para descansar junto a su esposa.

Trágicamente, no logró sobrevivir y falleció en la sala de operaciones.

El mayor deseo de nuestra familia es poder cumplir su última voluntad y llevarlo de regreso a casa para que descanse en paz. Él merece el respeto de ser honrado por su familia y su comunidad de toda la vida. Estamos buscando ayuda durante este momento tan difícil para poder cumplir su último deseo.
