Carlos " Cool Guy " Zapata

Dear loved ones,

Carlos “Cool Guy” Zapata, our beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and best friend, suddenly passed away late last night on August 8, 2023, in Fort Myers, Florida.

During the beginning of this summer in June 2023,

Carlos had begun to experience back pain.

The Cool Guy that we all have had the pleasure of knowing would never make a BIG deal when it comes to himself. He might have mentioned that he just needed a chair to sit down or just mumbled that he is in pain but would not want us to worry past that point.

That pain that he would mention here and there turned out to be cancer known as Multiple Myeloma.

Melissa and Carlos had decided to keep quiet and not let anyone worry about the recent diagnoses.

In the last 2 months, Mel had become a super wife, caretaking for her husband as she silently saw her husband deteriorate right in front of her eyes.

His body dramatically changed over a month.

The spread of the Cancer was not stopping any time soon but rather moving along more rapidly than any of us had ever expected.

In the last couple of weeks, we had to wrap our heads around this surreal nightmare.

Late last night, Carlos “Cool Guy”, fought with all his might to stay here with us.

I would like to say that God had other plans for him rather than to give Cancer any credit.

As unexpected as it has been, we must move forward to give our “GUY” a farewell.

Melissa is greatly appreciated by whatever amount is contributed to his farewell funeral costs as this has been an unexpected shock to us all.

All donations will be towards Carlos' funeral and burial service.

Any donation that's left over will go to their one and only daughter, Gianna's future college fund.
