Carlos has been diabetic for 18 years and was hospitalized at the end of May because of an infection in his foot. Doctors were unable to get the infection under control and after six surgeries, most of his foot had to be amputated.
Carlos has been a referee and coach for youth basketball since 2001. He has given his time and positive energy to leagues in Herndon, Reston, Vienna, Dulles and Chantilly. This past spring, he was essential in keeping the CYA recreational program running as both a referee and 9th grade boys coach.
Despite all he has been going through, he is always a pleasure to be around and has made youth sports better in our community!
He now faces struggles as he heals and navigates a new normal. He has substantial medical bills and lost wages. He needs our help! Please donate what you can.
