Hi, I'm Carli and I am searching for a way to get a home to heal. My current situation is wearing on my health. Living on the road with a neurological disorder and struggling daily to do the tasks necessary to stay alive is killing me. My body has taught itself to conserve energy so much that it has completely stopped functioning properly. I am at serious risk of severe health issues and organ failure, mainly my heart. Luckily, I have a doctor who found this issue and is working with me, but the main concern is that I stop living in survival mode. That means having water, a place to store, cook, and clean dishes for healthy food, a toilet, a real bed, and being out of the harsh elements. It means a home. I have not unpacked my bags for over seven years. My story: I had a major life change that impacted my health over night. I have what is called functional neurological disorder. It affects me everyday in everything I do. Living on the road was (and is) the only thing I could afford after a forced resignation from my job due to my disorder. I had someone to help me with the necessary chores to survive for a while, but I no longer have this help. It has been two years of intense struggle, and all of my progress with my disorder has turned to major regress and the development of another severe disorder. I have worked too hard to go back now, but I simply cannot do the requirements for me to keep living on the road physically without it being a huge setback to my health and wellbeing. It takes all of me to do small tasks just to survive. I am ready for a place to live, a stationary place. I am working very hard to make this happen. I am applying to go back to school to work as a counselor which is a job I can do remotely and make my own schedule which will allow me to work with my disorder and new health issues. I am building my credit. I am researching all of the options I have for housing that I can afford. Any and all help will go to forwarding my progress to get a place to live. This means saving for a downpayment, building my credit, and helping with schooling costs. I have been on government housing waiting lists for over five years. I cannot wait any longer. Life is out there and I am ready for it. I am not ready to lose it. My dogs need me. Thank you for reading. I appreciate you.
