Carlies hearing aids
Donation protected
My family and I are trying to raise £1,500 to fund a new hearing aid device for my sister in law Carlie who was born profoundly deaf. Carlie is able to use hearing aids but unfortunately her hearing has deteriorated more over time and is now becoming an issue for her. This device will make a huge difference in her everyday work, family, and social life; situations that we all take for granted. The NHS is unable to help Carlie so unfortunately going private is the only option for her. This device is from “HearWear”, a private company which works from the audiology department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital Guildford.
This device is going to consist of two parts:
1. She will have a device fitted to the back of each of her hearing aids. These will be receiving the signal from a device she will carry around with her.
2. The device picks up conversation from individuals (especially important in her tutor groups), music, street sounds etc.
This will give Carlie a whole new life experience.
As her family we are all so deeply excited about the possibilities this would open up for her, as she works in the animal care industry and is constantly striving to better herself in the knowledge of animal medicine and care. Being in a class situation is very difficult for her, and this will ensure she can hear everything her tutor says. Carlie has had a trial to make sure this device is compatible and is excited about what the future has in store.
Imagine having the opportunity to hear the birds. A simple thought that we take for granted, but an idea that has brought Carlie to tears.
So please if anyone could offer as little or as much as they can, anything will help towards making this a reality for Carlie.
Thank you.
