My name is Carla I was born and raised in a small town of Westmoreland, Jamaica called Mt Stewart. I currently reside in Orlando.

I am seeking help for my family and others in my community, help with food, and rebuilding homes.

Due to the devastating hurricane Melissa, my family and others in my community currently have no power, no cell services, food, water, etc. Many homes that were built with wood have blown away, and some homes that were built with bricks and had zinc metal roofs have lost their roofs, so many people are currently homeless. The front part of my parent's house, whom I currently take care of every month, has blown off. Thankfully, my parents and siblings are alive. My mom hurt her hip during the hurricane because she was trying to get away before anything fell on her. She's seeking medical attention now and cannot reach a doctor because most places in town (hospitals/doctor's offices) were also damaged.

I'm asking for whatever help anyone can provide, food and rebuilding.
