My name is Nora. Many of you know me as Carl Germain's sister, or some of you may not know me at all.

I'm helping Carl to raise money so that he can go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Argentina with many of his guitarist colleagues and friends from around the world, one of whom is Robert Fripp (lead guitarist for King Crimson), Carl's longtime mentor and fellow collaborator.

Carl will be attending a two week guitar course and retreat led by Robert, and this trip is especially important to him as this retreat in Argentina is the second to last of its kind forever. 

Carl has not asked me to do this campaign but I'd like to give him this gift. You see, I'm in the business of making dreams come true in both big and small ways. I know that Carl is incredibly well loved around the world and that he loves to make music, to travel, to make friends and to give back to the global music community that has inspired and embraced him for so many years. He's been on many of these trips and retreats in the past and every time, I'm astounded to see how much progress he makes as a musician and a young man. 

So I'd like to give him the opportunity to go on this next trip, to do what he loves, to learn, to expand on his musical knowledge, to have fun, to be with his favorite people, and to not worry about the expenses. 

If you chip in, in any amount, 100% of your contribution will go toward Carl's upcoming trip to South America. That includes fees for plane, travel while in Argentina, food, the full cost of the two week guitar course, lodging, and other expenses. All funds raised will go toward the trip even if the goal isn't reached. 

The trip will be three weeks, including a two week guitar course, and Carl needs the funds by September 15th, 2016. 

This means a lot to me because Carl is my only brother. He's my best friend and he deserves to be thanked for his years of service as a teacher, as a friend, a motivator, a bandmate, a volunteer, a soundman, a traveler, a person who brings people together, and as a brave and imaginative musician. Let's make this happen. Chip in a little, or chip in a lot, and you'll be glad you did. 

Carl and I both thank you tremendously. As I won't be going on the trip or taking even $1 from this campaign, I'll only be watching from afar (as I often am with Carl), but I know that this trip will mean an enormous amount to him, to his musical development, to his friendships with guitarists around the world, and to the people of Argentina who will be inspired and uplifted by Carl's presence.
