Carla McNamara, Trevor and Sean

Carla is one of the last people who would ever ask someone else for help, as she is always the person who is helping other people.

Carla McNamara is one of my mother’s (Madeline Brogan) best friends and her son Trevor is my younger brother Matthew’s best friend.

Carla has been in remission for many years from her bottle with breast cancer. Recently, she was having a lot of pain to her abdomen. They found that her cancer has come back, but with a vengeance it is now metastatic, extensive liver, pancreas, and caused her to have extensive blood clots in her lungs as well.

After numerous evaluation and meeting with oncology, Carla has made the very difficult decision to go into hospice care. This is something that Carla did with a heavy heart as I know she wants to be there for her two sons as she is the primary caregiver for her son, Trevor, who has special needs.

Carla is one of the most loyal people that you will ever meet. She can walk into a room and light it up, and everyone who knows her knows that her peacock call will get everyone’s attention if her smile doesn’t.

Carla is a mother of two amazing sons. The oldest Sean is an active US Navy officer.

Thankfully, he was able to take leave emergently to be with his mom at this time. However, that does not come without many challenges. Sean has been caring endlessly for his mom and trying to take care of everything for his younger brother to be sure that he is able to continue his daily schedule and also medical needs.

This is to raise some money to help Sean to hire some help for Carla. He has taken on a mountain of things to do for him to take care of everything that he needs to for Trevor and for Carla. Sean has faced this battle head on and he’s doing it with the most courageous and brave attitude I have ever seen in a son who knows what is going on and what is coming.

I wanted to be able to do something for them as they are in California right now, however her heart will always be in Texas, and there are so many people here who love her and her sons.

I hope to be able to alleviate a little bit of stress from Sean and to allow him to have some money to designate to anything related to Carla’s medical needs.
