Carla Holmes Memorial Fund

Hi everyone,

My name is Heather, I’m Carla’s little sister. In July, Carla became ill and was admitted to Queens hospital. She was released a couple of weeks later only to be readmitted again and then released again after another couple of weeks. Although Queen’s was never able to give her a final diagnosis Carla was hopeful and optimistic about making a full recovery.

Due to a tragic turn of events due to her illness, Carla ended up passing away in her apartment shortly after being released from Queen’s. Although we all knew she was sick none of us expected her to pass so quickly, including Carla who when I spoke to last was already planning her return to work at the Elk’s club, wanting to see her niece and nephew and ofcourse taking care of her beloved fur babies. Her unexpected passing has left our family broken hearted with many unanswered questions and things to take care of so she can rest in peace. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the cleaning and settling of her apartment and belongings, her cremation and funeral service.
