Carl's Pain in the Neck Relief Fund, no joke!

Some of you may be aware that our friend Carl has been suffering from debilitating migraines caused by a neck injury.  His current insurance will not cover the more in-depth exploratory diagnosis or treatment.  Carl has had to rely on heavy medications and pain relievers and they are no longer working and his quality of life is suffering. 

He can not sleep, the pain is relentless and getting more and more regular and excruciating. It is interfering with his ability to work and enjoy life.  He has been able to locate the needed next steps to help him restore any quality of life. 

Carl has researched and has been referred to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix,  it is out of network and his insurance will not cover the cost or tests needed. The Mayo Clinic has him scheduled in Phoenix on Sept 16th for an 8 am appointment. He will need to keep his schedule open that week for testing. The known cost is $744 for the initial visit, then airfare and hotel/transport for a week.  Then there will be a host of unknown costs for cat scans,  and other diagnostic testing and appointments.

The reality is that he will need $15-20k in order to cover the initial cost to figure out what he needs to fix the issues he is having.

At that point hopefully, his insurance network can jump in and cover the rest of the needed care and costs once he has a diagnosis and a referral to a surgeon that has the expertise in what is happening. 

Carl is at the endpoint of dealing with this pain. This is a serious matter and he can not put this off any longer. Please help me help a friend be able to find the resources and end his pain and resume the quality of life we all deserve.
