Hello,

My name is Dora, daughter of Carl Woodhouse. My Dad has been in and out of the hospital for the last couple years and the time between hospital visits has gotten shorter and shorter. Last year was especially tough for us, but he finally made it into a carehome, Chenchenstway, where the nurses were able to care for him 24/7. Unfortunately, the last two hospital visits my dad ended up in the ICU. Each time there was hope that he would get better. This last time, the Doctors suggested we put him on comfort care in the ICU, but he started getting better and eventually made it out of the ICU and transfered to the medical ward. Even the nurses said it looks like hes getting better. Hope was restored until, sadly, he took his last breath January 7, 2025.

My dad was a residential school survivor and has lived a tough life. I believe he did the best he could with what he had throughout his life. My dad was kind, gentle and had a big heart. My dad was on PWD and income assistance, despite his lack of resources, he was still generous, often too generous that people would take advantage of him. In this case, he would be considered a vulnerable adult.

He leaves behind me, my sister Caroline, his stepson David, and his spouse of almost 40 years Roanne. Additionally, he leaves behind his only surviving siblings Doris, AJ, and Ron.

I am reaching out for any assistance to help with funeral costs, and traditional ceremony costs. I will be distributing funds to services relevant to my Dad's funeral.
