An Evangelist. A Visionary. A Leader. A Pioneer. These titles have all been assigned to Carl H. Richardson throughout 60 years of ministry. The body of work that he did during his life is astounding and has impacted the lives of tens of thousands of people, and will continue to resonate throughout eternity. This is about preserving and expanding that ministry. Please read on for just a few minutes if you will.

I'm PD Richardson. I worked together with my father, Carl Richardson, for several decades and managed much of the media aspect of his ministry. When he passed into eternity in 2024, we started to gather up the typewritten sermons and audio and video tapes and books and other things left behind by a remarkable and singular force for the gospel.
As it was happening in real time, when I started working with him in 1987, I usually had the attitude of "It's just dad being dad", and he was always looking forward to the next thing anyway. Never really reminisced about anything or even celebrated victories - he determined to push to the next thing and that thing was always ministry of the gospel.
However, as I packed up page after page and tape after tape and read letters and started looking back on this incredibly fruitful ministry, I realized that Dad was true to his calling in a way that few others could be. He was first and always, The Evangelist. Preaching the gospel was his life's work. If you'll read on, you'll see why I've started this fundraiser to continue to let the man speak.

Our longtime associate, Leland Smelser, and my mother and my sisters, Juanelle and Christi have been organizing and trying to structure the warehouse full of materials, and I've digitized what I can. Dad does have a YouTube channel with some sermons and add-ons for those who have his books, but there is so much more from his ministry that has yet to be preserved, enhanced and digitized - then presented - and for that, we need some help.
We've been given a space to work from at Brandon Christian Fellowship and have much of the older gear that we need. However, in order to complete our task we need some new equipment and a few software programs and some hired help. That's why we're asking for help from those of you who might have benefited from Dad's ministry and would like to see it all archived in such a way as to continue the mission, rather that just a warehouse/library that few would ever see.

Our first real motivation began when a friend of mine came to visit for a few days after Dad had passed and that friend, Mark, asked if he could listen to one of my dad's sermons. I pulled up the YouTube channel and played "Believing God Anyhow" from a campmeeting long ago and Mark watched it in silence to the end. At the end of the sermon, Mark turned to me and exclaimed, "Paul, Jesus just healed my eye! I've been praying over this eye problem for a long time and your dad's sermon about faith really got to me, so I asked Jesus to heal my eye and He just did!" That was very moving, and his rejoicing was even more moving.
Mark and I talk frequently and he still mentions that his eye is perfect and he reminds me of that night which set something in motion in my heart and mind.

If Dad's sermon played on YouTube could reach someone like that and I witnessed it first hand, that had to mean that many many others could also respond to Dad's gospel message of faith, forgiveness, righteousness and all the other aspects of the ministry that Jesus gave him to speak. We've determined to create The Carl Richardson Legacy Project and would ask that you help us.

There are no less than 300 typewritten sermons that need scanned, corrected and presented. I've done a few myself and it takes a while. There are countless cassette tapes with sermons from churches, campmeetings and other venues. There are video interviews, sermons, TV programs, even LPs that can be enhanced and digitized and presented. There is already a CarlRichardson.org website that can be utilized as a resource for ministers (some of you will remember that Dad started Ministers Tape Service that sent out cassettes and sermon outlines from different preachers that would help local pastors speak to their congregations and that went on for many years), and inspriation for visitors and seekers. All this can be achieved with your help. Thank you for your consideration and I hope I've effectively shared the value of such a project with you.
