My name is Mel and I am struggling with the fact that I find myself writing this being the elder sister of Carl. I should have gone first not him.

On December 14th, our lives changed forever. My brother, Carl Gautry, passed away in the Intensive Care Unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary after being killed by unknown persons. His life was taken from us far too soon, leaving a hole in our family that can never be filled.

Carl wasn't perfect, far from it and he’d be the first to tell you he wasn't an angel. But he had a heart of gold when it came to his family and he didn't deserve to die in the way he has.

Carl leaves behind 5 sons who due to circumstances live with family members, but one thing no one could ever dispute about Carl was how much adored and loved, his five sons, Brandon, Blake, Bradley, Brodie and Boi, with all his heart. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his boys or for those he loved.

Why We Are Raising Funds

Because Carl’s death was so sudden and unexpected, we are faced with the difficult task of saying goodbye while managing the financial reality of a funeral. We are asking for your help to give Carl the send-off he deserves.

Our Goals for Carl’s Legacy

Our first priority is covering the funeral costs. However, if we are fortunate enough to exceed our goal, we have a very special plan for the remaining funds:

The boys already live with family and are totally distraught about their dad's passing and that they won't see him again or be able to build that relationship with him in the future.

We want to show them how much their dad was loved and ensure they can have a trip away to say their goodbyes and make some new happy memories.
