Carl’s funeral service will be held on the 28th September at 2:30pm, at Haycombe Crematorium in Bath.

As a family currently in shock and disbelief following the recent and sudden passing of Carl Buck, we want to ensure that we can provide him with the most beautiful farewell befitting of the love that so many held for him and equally for the love and joy that he brought to so many.
Carl was first and foremost a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and most importantly, a father. He was also so incredibly proud of his two daughters whom he referred to so affectionately as his 'princesses'.
Carl was a talented performer who brought so much joy to those that had the opportunity to see his performances and equally those that worked alongside him. He was always full of passion and enthusiasm for the creative arts, especially tap dancing. Coupled with his love for music, Carl was incredibly light on his feet and had moves that so many of us could only dream for. The stage and dance floor have lost a true talent!! One that, for our family, will never be replaced.
Sadly for many years Carl suffered from addiction, an illness that not many were aware of, often concealed through his desire to not cause concern or upset for others. It was a battle that he continuously tried to beat but sadly he lost that battle recently. The damage caused to his body was too great despite his greatest efforts especially with the love and support from his family.
With his sudden and unexpected passing we had never thought to prepare for this situation nor enquire as to whether there were the funds necessary. We simply assumed that there was always time and that this conversation would not be needed for so many years to come given that Carl was always full of life and had so much more to give. Our greatest fear is that we are now in this situation without the financial funds to provide him the final goodbye that we so dearly wish for him.
Carl leaves behind him a truly devastated family that loved him beyond words or measure. His condition is often overlooked or not even considered an illness due to lack of appreciation, yet it is truly real and something that so many suffer from in silence due to shame or lack of understanding. It has also become more prevalent in the last few years following the challenges witnessed within society for those who live alone.
We are a family struggling to come to terms with his passing. Our greatest hope is that we can, with the kind support from those that loved Carl, provide him with a final goodbye that celebrates his life and how he enriched the lives of not only his family and friends but also those within whom had the fortunate opportunity to experience his presence. We also want to ensure that all who wish to pay their respects can.
As a family we thank you for taking the time to read this and truly appreciate any donation to this cause.
With love from us all,
The Buck family x x x
