Carl & Melissa Memorial Fund

I recently lost my best friend Melissa.
Melissa Witt and her boyfriend Carl Sednaoui tragically passed away in a plane crash in Kenya on February 13, 2019. Carl's mother Cynthia, and her boyfriend Svilard, also perished in this terrible accident.
Carl was warm, intelligent, generous, and driven. He loved helping others and always gave great advice. He accomplished so many feats of education, career, and physical ability. It's hard to comprehend his family's enormous loss.
Melissa was compassionate, unique, and fully dove into her passions and interests. She was a extremely creative and a lover of nature, animals, music, and travel. Here is a touching article published in her home town: https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/2019/02/19/kenya-plane-crash-louisville-assumption-graduate-melissa-witt-dies/2864970002/?fbclid=IwAR3J90TdnHbOwl2O5IWfYL1MZDEP5euzQCy4juVddh-uOl0M3vmPZYLXY8o
Melissa and Carl both loved bringing their groups together. They hosted parties and danced the night away, always making new friends. Both touched many lives- all over the world!
Carl and Melissa were wonderful friends and colleagues to many people in the NYC area. Due to the untimeliness and immense loss of this couple, their New York City 'family' would like to come together for a Memorial Service in their honor. Sadly, many people they touched cannot attend both funerals; which are in Louisville, Kentucky and Beirut, Lebanon.
We are raising this fund for a memorial event in New York City, where everyone can gather and share their love for both of these amazing people! I will be in charge of the expenses.
Our hope is to raise these funds as soon as possible so we can begin putting plans into motion. Our goal is to host the event in the beginning of April, and have it reflect their legacy in an upbeat and positive way.
The plan is to withdraw the funds by March 8, so that I can secure for an event space on our ideal date.
Funds will be spent on our selected F&B location's food, beverage, and service gratuity. We also need to purchase some flowers and rent a microphone, speaker, projector, and screen. It would be nice to also create home-made some decorations and print take-aways for the guests.
I would do anything for Melissa. We shared an unbreakable bond and she was my sister for life. I know she felt the same. I'm looking forward to partnering with Melissa and Carl's close friends to make this event come true. Due to the overwhelming response of guests- I had to increase our budget.
We love you Melissa and Carl!
