The Unity Initiative Africa

Earlier this spring, I applied to attend a conference called the 2018 Unity Initiative for Women and am excited to share that I was accepted! Hosted in Tanzania (from July 15-21), the conference's purpose is to bring women from around the world together to foster relationships across cultures. During this week, we will highlight our many similarities in a world overly focused on the smaller differences. Unifying efforts, no matter their size or distance covered, have been a longtime interest of mine as a leader in my own community and state. While this is not a faith-based conference, the organization has chosen to focus the seminar topics on the person of Jesus as an example of servant leadership, forgiveness/reconciliation, and love without condition. While excited and honored to attend the gathering, it is no small effort to get there and participate. I am trying to raise the money to offset my conference and travel costs with this Go Fund Me page. I really appreciate any support you can give. This total goal ($3,100) is based on my round-trip plane ticket, the conference entrance fee, the country visa cost, and a small portion for miscellaneous costs (such as transport to/from airport, travel meals, etc.).
