On the morning of Wednesday June 12th, 2019 as I was driving my child to school and then going to head to work, our car began to smell funny. With in seconds the smell changed and the inside of the car began to become hazy with smoke. I was able to pull the vehicle to the side of the south-bound off ramp of I-5 at Exit 39 just as sparks flew from then engine followed immediately by flames. My teenager and I were able to quickly exit the vehicle and run away from the vehicle just as the fire began. Within minutes the car was engulfed in flames.

The fire not only damaged the car, but melted the car. Unfortunately, there was nothing salvageable and I did not have Comprehensive Coverage on the vehicle at the time so the vehicle is a complete loss. I keep thinking how bad this could have been if the fire had started only one minute earlier.

I am grateful that my child and I were able to escape the vehicle without any injuries. However, now I am without a car and do not have the resources to put towards a new vehicle at this time. Anyone who knows me knows that I do not ask for help, even when I should. But this isn't just about me. This is about the need to be able to get to and from work to support my two children, about being able to drive me kids to and from school and school activities, about being able to get to the grocery store. This car was my only vehicle and I never had any issues with it before this because I made sure to take good care of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and any funds raised will go directly to a vehicle and vehicle expenses for our family. Thank you in advance to anyone who takes an interest in supporting my family in this difficult situation.
