Carissa's Battle with Cancer

Dear Friends and Family,
We are reaching out to let you know that our dear sister and friend, Carissa Marvin Richards, could use some love and assistance right now. As some of you may know, Carissa has been struggling with health issues for quite some time now and after a year of trying to find answers thru multiple clinical evaluations, she was diagnosed with Stage IV cervical cancer. As you can imagine, this was not the news she, nor her family, hoped for or even expected to hear.
Carissa is just one of those people you just love right away. She’s always smiling, happy, positive, and outgoing! If you’ve had the privilege to meet her, you will know instantly, that she can fill you with love, light, and laughter! You will have a “forever” friend in Carissa – she will just love you and will always see the good in you, no matter what. In true Carissa fashion, she has remained positive after receiving this news and has continued to share her smile, her light, and her positivity as best she can.
As you can imagine, Carissa is preparing to face a fierce battle – the battle of her life, quite literally. She has friends and family that have rallied behind her in support and loving care. However, she and her family still need your assistance! Carissa has started an aggressive treatment regimen that will take much of her time and family resources. We are asking for donations – no amount is too small – to help with medical bills and household needs during this time, so that Carissa and her family can focus on the healing work that needs to be done.
As you may know, Carissa has two young teenagers that are the light of her life, and this has been very hard on them as well. Carissa has had to stay in the hospital more than she would like sometimes and that means that her kids have to find rides with others to and from school, since Brannon is not only working full time through all of this madness, but is also driving Carissa to and from the hospital in Dallas for multiple treatments a day.
We would also like to ask, that in addition to any monetary gifts you can contribute, please send Carissa words of encouragement Carissa has been such a ray of sunshine in the lives of so many….
