Carissa and Lawrence need help to save Kai

Hello, my name is Lawrence, I am raising funds on behalf of Carissa and our rescue pup, Kai.

We were blessed to adopt Kai less than a year ago from a rescue organization. She was the runt of the litter, weighing only 3 pounds when we brought her home. In the months that followed, she grew to a whopping 5.5 pounds! We experienced the joy of watching Kai explore her new home and neighborhood. She made tons of friends and work, both human and furry. She loves showing affection to everyone and has been a constant source of emotional support.

Recently, abnormalities were discovered in her bloodwork, and we almost lost her. While waiting for a diagnosis, it was found both her red and white blood cell count were extremely low, and platelets were practically non-existent. She became unresponsive and was rushed to the emergency room at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. The amazing staff were able to stabilize her and administered a blood transfusion in the hopes of kick starting her system to create red and white blood cells and platelets. Over the course of her initial stay, she started experiencing seizures. After an overnight stay, the staff felt comfortable enough to send her home. That night, all seemed to get back to relative normalcy. The following morning, she suffered a setback and had to be rushed back into the emergency room. She is currently in stable condition in the critical care unit at the Pet Hospital.

We need your assistance because while we have pet insurance, we have already exhausted the maximum amount they will cover. Kai has a long road ahead for her recovery and the upcoming follow up visits and medications have put us in a tough financial situation.
