Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey — through donations, encouragement, or simply sharing my story. Your support helps me continue the fight for truth, justice, and accountability.
Cariol’s Law: Duty to Intervene is a law that was passed in Buffalo, NY, requiring police officers to step in if they see another officer doing wrong. There should be no more George Floyds or Eric Garners happening while other officers stand by and do nothing. The good officers deserve protection when they cross the blue line to stop another officer who has gone too far, as in the case of George Floyd.
I am now advancing Cariol’s Law on the state level and am proud to share that it has sponsors in both the New York State Senate and Assembly. Our movement for a duty-to-intervene law — protecting citizens and ethical officers alike — is expanding beyond Buffalo and taking root across New York State.
I am also completing my book by the end of 2025, which will tell the full story — from the struggle to the victory — and shed light on the ongoing fight for justice.
Your continued support helps me advocate, write, and keep this mission alive. Together, we can make lasting change.
Sincerely,
Cariol Horne
