Our dear family member and caring father, Scott Gerz, suffered an unexpected stroke.
Scott, a father of Madisen and Zack, brother to Kim, and son to Lois, has suffered from a terrible tragedy and we truly could use your help.

Last year, Scott put his life in Nevada on hold to go to Florida to care for his father who was stuck by a cruel and incurable disease.
Unfortunately, Scott’s father passed away earlier this year. Scott planed on staying in Florida for a short while to be with his family and to help with making his mother’s adjustment without her husband more comfortable.
During this time, Scott's mother fell and injured herself, so Scott extended his stay until she was back on her feet.
Just as Scott had made plans to return home to Reno, Nevada and return to work, so he could pay his own bills and regain some sort of semblance in his life - his mother found him in the bedroom unresponsive! He had suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke .

It is too early to predict his recovery, but he is a fighter. Although Scott has medical coverage, his Insurance does not cross state lines and he is in no condition to travel home or to be unattended.

Scott is relearning to walk, speak, recall, his speech is impaired and he will require ongoing physical and occupational therapy.
His out of pocket costs for rehab will be $4000 a month and he will have to stay in Florida long term. Unfortunately going back to work is currently not an option.
Scott’s daughter will do her best in Reno to raise funds so they don't lose their home. Understandably, she is already overwhelmed with costs. Scott’s son proudly serves our country in the Air Force and has been given a short leave to visit his father in the hospital, which has been a great help having loved ones nearby.
Scott is trying to speak. He can now say “I love you” and will be cared for from home by his mom and sister as he will no longer be receiving hospital care.
If you know Scott Gerz then you know he is a giving and caring individual. We thank you for your time and donation in helping our friend recover. We hope he can get back to his fun-loving self and can thank you himself.
All the best to you and yours.
The Friends of Scott
HOW YOUR DONATION WILL BE USED - The funds will go directly towards Scott’s hospital and rehab bills. His savings has been used up so we also hope to bring in enough funds that could help save his home until (hopefully) he has recovered enough to return to it.
UPDATES - Positive news will be posted as we hear more.
