Hey everyone, my name is Leslie McAllister and I’m friends with Courtney Roy & her family. They are currently facing an unimaginable medical scenario right now, and I am asking that we come together as a community to help our friends so they can focus on healing. A Message from the Family:

This was never the post we thought we’d have to make, but we felt the need to share what has been happening privately over the last few weeks.

On November 24, we lost our baby girl, Belle Grace Roy, at 19 weeks. Courtney had been feeling off all day and in the early morning we had to rush to Maine Medical Center where we were told the devastating news that there was no heartbeat.

As we were preparing to say goodbye on our terms, we were knocked down with more bad news. Courtney’s white blood cell count was through the roof and her bleeding was so out of control that she needed surgery instead.

A mere 24 hours later we got worse news: Courtney has acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Only a few weeks earlier she had perfect bloodwork as we prepared to add to our family and now we’re in the biggest challenge we’ve ever had to face.

Courtney is in okay spirits all things considered. She hasn’t left the hospital since 11/24 and likely won’t be able to leave until after Christmas. She’s already started chemotherapy and her team of doctors and nurses have been wonderful.

We wanted to thank everyone who has reached out to us in the last few weeks. Now we are focusing on healing, keeping our son Van happy and adjusted, and trying to find some happiness as we navigate this scary chapter in our lives.
