Caring For The Coys

As you may know Sandy Coy has received news no woman wants to hear, breast cancer. She had surgery on February 6th and has made a great recovery. Unfortunately, since then they have received some more hard news. They met with Dr. Shalaby, her oncologist and he staged her breast cancer at Stage 3 A due to the size of the tumor and it spreading to the lymph nodes.  Since her cancer has been non cooperative, Dr. Shalaby is ordering a bone scan to make sure it hasn’t spread there.  As for treatment, Sandy will have a port installed next week, and chemo will begin next Thursday.  The first regimen of chemo will be every two weeks for 4 cycles.  After she is done with that round, then the second part begins with another chemo drug once a week for 12 weeks.  In total, she is looking at 5 months of chemo.  After chemo, she’ll start radiation.  After radiation, she’ll start hormone therapy since the type of cancer she has feeds off estrogen.  They are relieved with a treatment plan, but of course facing some very scary and difficult times, as well as, having a long road ahead of them. This family is so precious to many people and they have touched lives through their love of Christ. Please help stand in the gap for them with prayers, words of encouragement, calls, texts and donations as you can. These funds will help go toward treatment costs, missed time at work for both Jaime and Sandy and taking care of their precious family at this scary time.
