On 2 April 2021 Steve was victim of a "Hit and Run" accident while cycling in the vicinity of San Marcos. According to the authorities the vehicle identified by eyewitness as a Silver 2013-2016 Audi A-4 Sedan, failed to stop after it collided with Steve and his bicycle from the rear.
Sherriff deputies responded to reports of a person lying unresponsive in the roadway on Woodland Parkway. Paramedics swiftly took him to Palomar Hospital in Escondido where he received treatment for his critical injuries which included a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
While in the hospital Steve underwent several medical procedures including an emergency reconstructive surgery of his cranium. After the surgery he remained in a medically induced coma for several days. In the weeks following the accident Steve was awaken from his coma but unfortunately still struggling with the effects of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
Steve is currently in Critical Care while trying to heal and rehabilitate. Given his health at this point he will not be able to go back to work for the foreseeable future. We are hoping to collect as much as possible to help with day to day bills as well as the vast medical expenses.
We appreciate any consideration or any amount donated!
