Sandra Wathan is one of our incredible coworkers at Pelham Medical Center. Over the last 2 years she has suffered a series of personal tragedies. The first, was a stroke that left her unable to work for several months. When she was finally cleared to come back, she struggled with lingering symptoms and debilitating side effects from medication. After recovering, Sandra found out that her beloved sister had terminal cancer. She spends every day off caring for her sister and taking her to chemotherapy treatments. Recently, after several months of illness and sudden weight loss, her husband was also diagnosed with cancer. They are currently undergoing a series of testing to find out how involved it is. This week Sandra had to take her husband to the ER for intractable vomiting with dehydration. She didn't arrive home until 1:30 a.m. She was at work that morning.
Sandra is a tech on 3BV/4BV at Pelham Medical Center and has also worked on 5 Heart at Spartanburg Medical Center. Her altruistic nature makes her the ultimate care giver...it is just who she is. She takes such care with her patients it makes our jobs as nurses that much easier. As a team, we are asking for your help to raise funds for Sandra, as she is the only source of financial support for her family. These funds will be utilized to help Sandra's family with medical bills and everyday needs that arise. Sandra also has a son in high school that she adores!
Thank you for your support!
