Caring for Raquel Cardoza, Leukemia Fund

This fundraiser is for my daughter Raquel Cardoza, she is 8 years old and is battling cancer. Her diagnoses are Down Syndrome and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia affecting her B-cells. We found out Raquel had cancer on December 15, 2020.
Raquel is in 2nd grade and has 3 sisters, Autumn, Scarlett and Yvette.  Before cancer Raquel would love to watch Frozen, dance, sing, and laugh with us, her family!! Her personality is one of a kind and she's full of love and innocence.
We found out about Raquel's cancer shorty after she fainted at home. It was terrifying to see her fall to the ground and be too weak to stand or let out a few sounds. Immediately we, rushed her to the ER and after a few blood draws was told Raquel needed to be transferred right away to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA.
We were transported by ambulance, a two hour ride, and after that day our world has not been the same, and it won't be until the 2 & 1/2  years of Chemotherapy/Maintenance are over.  Raquel and I stayed in Spokane from December 15 to March 22 when she was give the ok to be home and travel back to the Tri-Cities.
Leukemia has taken over our lives and that of our precious Raquel. We've been traveling to her appoints since March but sometimes we are not allowed to return home, and must stay in Spokane. Because of the covid-19 restrictions no family is allowed to visit which means when we leave to her treatments we're separated from her sisters and rely on family to  look after her siblings.
As you can imagine my family is in need of  support from the Tri-Cities community, our family, our friends, neighbors and anyone in between.
We've been asked many times, how can we help, and this fundraiser for Raquel is a way to support her through her battle.  The donations will be used for traveling expenses, child care expenses, living expenses, medical equipment and possibly relocating to Spokane. I as a mother had to step away from my job to be by Raquel's side. This has caused a financial  hurdle for us and it's hard to ask for help, but here we are asking with all pride set aside.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and if you choose to donate to Raquel's journey and recovery know that our hearts will be grateful.
To anyone reading, you're welcome to share this post everywhere and again thank you!! ❤
