Caring for Peth Lim

On March 4th, Peth “Poppa Lim” was walking while on vacation in Cambodia when he was tragically struck by a fast moving vehicle. He was placed on life support at a hospital in rural Cambodia. The Lim family were able to fly to his bedside and arranged for his safe transport to a higher acuity hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. There he is receiving top notch medical care, but continues to be in critical condition.

Poppa Lim has been able to fight off several infections. He no longer has the catheter to drain the bleeding from his head. He has had several surgeries to fix broken bones as well as surgery to place a tracheostomy. Recently, Poppa Lim has been able to occasionally open his eyes, though is still unable to follow commands. He has shown response to the sound of his family’s voices, especially those of his granddaughters. Poppa Lim has a long journey ahead of him. The doctors are hopeful that Poppa Lim will be stable enough to be transported back to California very soon.

The Lim family are doing everything they can to facilitate this transport, but desperately need your help to ease the financial burden of his hospitalization and the steep cost of the medical transport back home.
