Hi! My name is Jaime and I've known Matt and Holly since Holly and I had English class together in college, over 25 years ago. Two years ago, Matt was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, stage 4 brain cancer. He's been fighting the good fight with chemo and radiation and two very involved brain surgeries. Since February, he's been unable to walk, having lost the ability to use his left side - his dominant side as a lefty. All tasks that require two feet or two hands are tasks Matt can no longer do on his own. He relies on his wife for daily care, 24 hours a day. He has the love of family who stays with him a few nights each week to help Holly take care of him. Friends help as much as they can as well. But the time has come to bring in the caring hands of an in-home nurse aid, who can care for Matt, and can help Holly continue to be mom, wife, softball coach, etc. Holly and Matt are like family to me and we love Matt dearly.
Please consider helping them get the in-home care that Matt needs. Know that this ask is not an easy one. Matt has prided himself with caring for his family for 17+ years. He's a great dad and a wonderful husband. Cancer has taken away many things from this family, but in-home care would bring some light where there is darkness and relieve stress where there is exhaustion, and bring comfort to a man who has beaten so many odds to date.
