Caring for Macchiato: Emergency Vet Fund

My family and I own chickens, and we had incubated 6 eggs from our hens in hopes that they would hatch hens to give away to a friend of ours, one of which hatched Macchiato, our brown-caramel silkie rooster. He hatched a day early, couldn't wait for the world, while his siblings trailed behind 2 and 3 more days before they joined him. Macchiato never really stood out much compared to his siblings, but he took after his mother with his gentle demeanor and took after his father with his willingness to be picked up and petted.

Unfortunately for him and his siblings, as we had hatched 4 roos and only 1 hen, we had to relocate them temporarily as our city does not allow roosters to be kept in backyards. While we are looking for permanent homes for them, our kind friend had been letting them stay in Carmel Valley, where they have been residing for some months now. Unfortunately we have not found any homes for our roosters, and they have been growing up very fast. Just a couple days ago, we discovered feathers everywhere right by the enclosure Macchiato had been kept in.

Thankfully, he was alive. However, his left wing had been severed and torn apart, with blood spatter across his feathers. some sort of small predator had gotten through the holes of the wire and appeared to have clawed his wing off. He had partial bones sticking out as well as some minor tears on the skin layer where the feathers grow.

We took him to the emergency care that night and they referred us to the vet where we will eventually have to have the rest of his wing amputated.

I am asking for your support to assist with vet bills, as well as funds to contribute to our friend in building a safer enclosure/environment for the rest of our chicken babies.
