Caring for Lindbergh

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sybil, and Lindbergh is my brother.

On Feb. 7, 2022, my brother, Lindbergh Burton, was rushed to the Rush Foundation Hospital by ambulance. He was then transported from Meridian to St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, MS by helicopter because he had suffered a massive stroke, and there are very few neurologists in Meridian that could provide the medical attention he needed.
After several weeks at St. Dominic’s, he was sent to Select Specialty Hospital. He was finally able to return to Meridian and be admitted to a long-term facility. Tragedy struck once again; Lindbergh was admitted, and a few hours later, his breathing was so bad he was rushed to the ER. He is currently on a ventilator, diagnosed with necrosis, and has a tracheostomy to assist with his breathing.

Unfortunately, throughout this entire ordeal, he has not been able to see his minor children due to hospital/long-term care facility policies. As most people will tell you, my brother is a true fighter. We are hopeful his status will soon change due to Lindbergh’s effort to breathe on his own (times improving daily), communicate with family and friends (he is still stubborn y’all), and his push for independence, and showing real signs of improvement.

Home maintenance/upkeep, utility bills, support for minor children (3), hospital bills, car, insurance, etc.

In August 2021, prior to this episode, Lindbergh was diagnosed with Covid-19. He was hospitalized for 11 days with pneumonia. He left the hospital with a clot in his lungs. His health slowly began to decline. He couldn’t work or do any of the activities like riding his bike anymore. The blood clot is what caused his massive stroke.

I believe he can bounce back in my heart, but only God has the last say, especially with medical matters. Lindbergh has always been a caring and thoughtful father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, co-worker, and friend, willing to help others when needed with no questions asked. He is also already a medical miracle, proven repeatedly in the last several months. Whatever you can find in your heart to give, his family would greatly appreciate it, and as always, we are thankful for your continued prayers. All of the funds collected will go towards the needs mentioned above.
