The past few years have been tough for our mom, Kelly Eller. Rather than her and our dad, Paul, enjoying retirement as they had planned, my mom has faced many health struggles.
On September 28th, 2024, our world changed with a phone call. Mom notified us she had been silently battling Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer for 2 years, and radiation and chemotherapy failed. Early October, we built her a wheelchair ramp as Kelly was no longer able to walk, and a ramp was needed for her to safely attend appointments. We are asking for donations to repay them for the materials needed to build the ramp, as insurance did not cover the expense. (Wood is expensive these days!)
On November 13th, the heartbreak sank deeper. Our parents shared with us that the oral medication had not been effective in treating mom's cancer. Mom is now on hospice. Since discontinuing the medications, she shares she feels more energetic.
There are many expenses that have not been covered by insurance that our parents have paid for, such as the ramp. Her daughters would love her to have a power wheelchair to help her with independence and ease our dad's back! One of the many admirable qualities of our mom is her fierce independence and can-do attitude. She has not asked for anything; we just want to help with comfort and provide any sort of relief during this time.
Thank you-
