The Veterans Kitten House : Homeless Cat Solutions

Hi, my name is Nicole “Nikki” Pelt and I feed, care for, foster/rescue/adopt out homeless cats and kittens from Tampa, FL to Dunnellon, FL. I am a military veteran and I am a new, young widow as my 35 year old husband unexpectedly/suddenly passed in February 2023. My husband was a combat veteran, a cowboy, animal lover and he was my world. “Ricky & Nikki”, we were inseparable!

Right before Ricky passed away he suggested I start up a cat rescue as he knew how much passion I have when it comes to homeless & hungry cats. Now, the kitties are the ONLY thing helping me cope with the sudden loss of my best friend and husband, Ricky Nelson. Without these cats that need me/you, I don’t think I would still be here.

I will take in as many cats and kittens that I can fit! Everyone traps and gets them all fixed and then RELEASING THEM BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE RESCUED FROM… I don’t understand this and I do not support it!! TVKH will rescue and house rescues that have just undergone spay/neuter and need to be adopted out, as well as those awaiting their procedure appointments. 

**The URGENCY is this: there’s SO many cats and kittens on the streets from Tampa to an hour and 40 minutes north in Dunnellon. They need to be rescued ASAP and the shelters are hardly even taking in stray cats due to overpopulation, so they have nowhere to go! These kitties are innocent, starving, filthy, bullied/hurt/killed by other animals and humans. **Almost 100% of people, shelters, trappers involved in helping the homeless cats in communities TRAP to have them spayed/neutered and then released to the streets**The cats and kittens that I cross paths with will never ever be released back on the street. Please help me to help them. Any contribution will make a difference. 

BREAKDOWN:

LAND: generally $500 down and $150-$200 per month. 

STRUCTURE: make first payment and then they deliver for free so it depends on the size which in my case it would be around $200-$300 and then they will deliver it. DRYWALL/FLOORING/PAINT/CAT SUPPLIES/ETC - ALL THAT IS NEEDED TO MAKE TVKH OPEN ITS DOORS I’d say around $1,000-$2,000However, all I need help with really is getting the land and structure paid and ordered so I can start taking these poor babies in.
