Caring for Destiny and Blossom: Vet Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi. My name is Steve Ball. I'm old and retired, disabled with severe arthritis, and basically living month-to-month on Social Security, in Stanton CA. I'm trying to finish a science fiction novel. And this is a GoFundMe for raising $2,000 for vet bills for two cats.

FIRST CAT:
The first cat is a feral kitten. My wife named him (her?) Destiny. Destiny came to us, via the CDS, in the early morning of January 1st, 2026. In the rain.

As usual, I was up around midnight, from leg pain from my diabetic neuropathy, writing. It was raining quite hard, so I delayed my morning routine of setting food out for the feral cats in the apartment complex.

(Our complex has an enclosed central atrium. Abandoned cats can't escape, but don't have to worry about ground predators. And they get fed by residents.)

Around 3:30 am, I heard a crash and frantic meowing from our patio. I looked out and saw a soaked-to-the-bone kitten running back and forth on the patio, trying to escape. Long story short, I went out, finally caught it, and my wife immediately wrapped it in a blanket and took it inside.

We're not sure of Destiny's sex or age yet (but he IS eating a mix of kitten pate and formula) and pooped a couple of times. The "feral" kitten has spent most of the last 3 days playing with assorted junk under the sofa and being held, sleeping, by my wife.

So we have a new cat, and it goes to the vet Monday for (looks at notes) at least $250 in initial vet bills -- exam, deworming (2x) FVRCP (3x), rabies, etc. Then there is the future spay or neuter bill ($150-$210). I'm also assuming contingencies of maybe $500, So $1,000 for Destiny.

SECOND CAT:
Our second cat is Blossom. She's a crochety 13-year old Seal Point Siamese/something-else mix and is strictly an indoor cat.

For several health reasons, our vet put her on a special prescription diet from Royal Canin that is apparently made from gold and ambergris, and is quite expensive, about $2.50 per day. Blossom also needs bloodwork, dental work, and special flea meds (she's allergic to both fleas AND some of the meds). I'm asking $1,000 for Blossom.
