Caring For Cali

Donation protected
Cali Snyder has taught Pre-K at Gonzales Primary Academy, in Gonzales, TX where she grew up, for 9 years.  She has been a loved and respected part of the educational community in that time.

On December 18, Cali made the decision to have gastric sleeve surgery.  It was a difficult decision for her but one that she ultimately decided was what she needed to get her life onto a better and healthier track.

Unfortunately, that surgery led to a clot in her portal vein (Deep Vein Thrombosis), which ultimately led to the loss of 75% of her small intestines.  Cali has been in the ICU since December 27 and has endured six surgeries in less than two weeks, and her battle continues.  It is unknown exactly how long Cali will be in the hospital and if she will ultimately have to go out of state in order to get the treatment she needs.  However, we do know that Cali will be in the hospital for at least another month and she will be unable to work for months beyond that.

Because Cali's condition is so rare and there are changes in her condition and the plan daily, her husband Michael has also had to take a leave from work to be able to be there to make critical decisions as necessary.

At this time, we are unsure what medical bills will ultimately be, but for now we are asking for donations to support Cali and her husband financially in monthly bills, hotels, gas, food and other costs related to Cali's very critical situation.
