I’m sharing this from a very vulnerable place.. it’s not easy for me to ask for help and while I’m doing my best to protect my privacy, I could really use a little support right now 

This is Cali ❤️ she is more than just my dog she’s my best friend. She’s always been so full of life, playful, and loving, and she’s been by my side through everything. After a playful day, Seeing her suddenly in so much pain was one of the scariest moments of my life.

It started with restlessness she couldn’t get comfortable and kept pacing. Soon after, her stomach began to look swollen, and she was trying to vomit but nothing was coming up.

Within a short time, her condition got worse. She became weak, her breathing seemed more labored, and she looked scared and uncomfortable. I had never seen her like that before, and it was terrifying.

I rushed her to the emergency vet, where they quickly suspected Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV) a life threatening condition where the stomach fills with gas and twists. They told me she needed immediate surgery to survive.

After the emergency surgery for GDV, she’s finally home and recovering. She’s still not quite herself yet, but seeing her rest and slowly get her strength back means everything to me. I’m just so grateful she made it.

This experience has been overwhelming emotionally and financially. I would do anything for her, and I did in that moment but now I’m struggling to cover the cost of her lifesaving care.
