Caring For Cahir

Donation protected
Local Jeweller, John Quirke will cycle approx 8.5km on his mountain bike, and after completing his cycle challenge, John will then proceed on his run/jog approx 3.5km in his pair of Guinness slippers as his chosen footwear for the day.
This is all being done in aid for worthy local charities:

1. Helping Mandy, 2. Cahir Day Care Centre - permit granted by An Garda Síochána.

The whole event will be recorded, highlighting and promoting local businesses, shops, sports clubs and facilities in Cahir town. We are hoping in return for this exposure that businesses will donate to these worthy causes.

Brendan Kerins, Premier Video Productions, Cahir, will voluntarily provide his services free by videoing the event. Commentary will be provided by Hugh O’Donnell and P.A. system by Gerry Bell.
It is hoped it will be fun and entertaining day with a few surprises on the day!
All of the local Gardaí and in particular Superintendent Denis Whelan and Sgt. Ray Moloney are fully backing the venture, and have been very cooperative in their support. Cahir Men’s Shed will also be helping on the day with collections.
The cycling will commence on the Cashel Road outside the Cahir Mart on Friday 21st August at 2pm. The run/jog in slippers will start immediately afterwards from the new Medical Centre in Barnora and will continue around a circuit of the town, finishing up outside Cahir Post Office.
