Update: 8/27/22
Wanted to update everyone on Alan's condition -he has improved everyday since last month. Some days are better than others--especially on days assigned for dialysis, these are still tough for Alan who as you know...cannot sit still for longer than 10min let alone 4+hrs. He continues to see small, but nonetheless, improvement in his kidneys which we are praying will be healthy enough to end dialysis sooner rather than later. Update to come when that day is here.
Today is also Alan's birthday!! Please feel free to let him know you are thinking, praying for him and his family. They welcome it.
Below is personal information the family has decided to disclose about a recent event.
Yesterday, Friday 8/26, Alan had to undergo surgery on his right hand to amputate few fingers and some tips as well. He is now home and starting to deal with the weight of that procedure and how it will be different going forward. Alan can and will get through this next chapter in his recovery by way of therapy which will include the focus on mobility on right hand (fingers) and also focusing on grip on his left hand which currently is to make a strong fist. Alan is upbeat and ready to tackle this next phase (1-2 years) which in no doubt will be his toughest yet. Family, friends and you, can help him along this new journey.
The Villacorta family are extremely grateful for your financial support as well as those who have called, texted, donated, or simply said a prayer, you are truly appreciated

Thank you everyone for contributing and please continue to share with family and friends. The Villacorta family is grateful for your thoughts and gifts. Soon I will update with next goals for Alan.
Hi everyone, my name is Ricky Garza --this is a fundraiser for my good friend and brother Alan. As many of you know, Alan is a passionate individual who loves life and lives it to the fullest by being involved in Jiu-Jitsu as Draculino Black Belt, caring for his wife and two boys, Matheus and Ethan, which are his life. Other hobbies include cycling, exercising, and occasionally indulging in watermelon water and "paletas." He has lived in Miami, Puerto Rico, Chicago and most recently, Houston.
On June 13th Alan was admitted to UTMB Hospital with an already aggressive case of Necrotizing Fasciitis, otherwise known as "flesh-eating bacteria" he quickly was taken to surgery as the bacteria was making its way throughout his body. It would be 8 hours before he was transferred to UTMB in Galveston, quickly diagnosed with Sepsis which became the fight for Alan for the next two weeks. There have been numerous significant surgeries and procedures to save his life and body for almost six weeks, and with all those dark days stacked againsnt him, he has fought every minute to come home and be with his family again. As of July 20th, he has returned home with care; daily physical therapy and dialysis are still part of his routine.
Alan's Family is gracious to have their dad, son, and husband at home -- this is a new journey and chance in life for all involved, including Alan. Those realities are here for now; this is where you and I can help the family with their financial burden for the foreseeable future.
