Caring for a Nurse: Anna Wasson
The need: The Wasson family needs your financial help in overcoming this difficult season. Anna is a per diem nurse at a large hospital in Western New York, working on average 1 -2 shifts per week. However, she won't be able to work for the foreseeable future because of this illness and isn't eligible for financial help such as disability or PFL. I want to ensure that this family of 6 is able to walk through this season without undue financial pressure. Please help my sister and her family whom I love so much navigate this treacherous journey. I'd love for them to see how deeply they are loved and how far and wide that love exists.
The story: Anna and Tim have been married since June 2004 and have 4 beautiful children: Cooper, Alayna, Callie, and Levi (see pic above). On July 21, 2021, after a day in the ER, we were told that Anna had pleural effusion around her left lung, as well as a 3cm mass in the upper lobe. The doctor then said those words no one ever wants to hear: probable cancer. After the pleural fluid was tested, it was confirmed that Anna has adenocarcinoma; lung cancer. She’s never smoked in her life and has no other risk factors. Because malignant cells were found in the fluid, it was determined that her cancer is stage 4.
We are trusting God that He will take us through this and that Anna will still have many more years on this side of eternity. We don’t believe that God is done with her yet. We want to glorify Him throughout this journey. We covet your prayers for wisdom for her doctors and for healing.
