Birthday Update Celebrating Paul Taylor’s Journey (AUGUST 24TH 2025)

Today is Paul’s birthday and we felt this was the perfect time to share an update and invite you to continue walking with us on his journey. Paul is in a Care center on the Eastside of Detroit where he’s safe, cared for, and making some progress.

Over the past year, we’ve watched him regain strength and stability in ways that give us hope. While the path ahead is still challenging, we’ve seen just how important community can be in lifting him up.

Our biggest hurdle now is helping him win the mental battle. As many of you know, he can be stubborn and likes things his way. So, embracing the rehab process fully hasn’t always been easy for him.

Your past support helped us get him settled. What we know for sure is that feeling the love and support of the community makes all the difference to him. Now, we’re focused on giving him the tools and resources to get stronger and ultimately live independently. We're continuing to raise funds to enhance his recovery beyond what the facility provides things like:

For over 40 years, Paul Taylor has committed himself to helping others by developing programs that highlight the importance of unity, self-determination, collective work, creativity, and faith.

He is a true Detroit hero! His work has touched countless lives, fostering a sense of community and empowerment. He has always been there for others, offering his time, energy, and resources to make our community a better place. Now, in this vulnerable time of his life, he needs our support.
